Makin’ It Episode 1: Vicky Somma

On this episode of Makin’ It, I sit and have a conversation with my good friend Vicky Somma. Vicky is from Occoquan Virginia. Her and I connected during my time at Shapeways, and I had the pleasure of meeting her at the NOVA Maker Faire in 2015. We discuss Vicky’s business, TGAW. As well as her site, you can find her products on Etsy at https://www.etsy.com/shop/VickyTGAW. Vicky uses 3D printing as her primary medium. We discuss how 3D printing has helped her express her passions in her own unique way. How she goes from making things that are special to her, and how that has translated to selling her craft as others find her craft special to them as well. The essence of what drives today’s makers. Be sure to check out Vicky’s site and Etsy shop! And if you want to follow in Vicky’s shoes, check out her guide to using Blender “Blender 3D Printing by Example: Learn to use Blender’s modeling tools for 3D printing by creating 4 projects”, available on Amazon. And if you’re in the Maryland area, be sure to visit Vicky at the 1st East Coast RepRap Festival on June 23rd and 24th.
